EPA Names Energy Inspectors Corporation 2009 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Energy Inspectors Corporation as a 2009 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its outstanding contribution in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through its work as a Home Energy Rater. The 2009 Partner of the Year Awards are given to leading organizations nationally that provide significant and tangible contributions to the cause of energy efficiency, and energy savings in America. Energy Inspectors is being recognized for its accomplishments at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 31, 2009.
An ENERGY STAR partner since 1999, Energy Inspectors is being honored for its work in upgrading residential energy efficiency and qualifying new homes to earn the ENERGY STAR label. Home Energy Raters model, evaluate, test and independently verify requirements for ENERGY STAR certification. Energy Inspectors has offices in Utah, Nevada, California and Arizona. This is the third consecutive year in which Energy Inspectors is honored by the EPA for their sustained excellence and accomplishments in producing energy-efficient homes, having certified over 135,000 homes as energy-efficient, of which 70,000 were ENERGY STAR homes.
"The superior energy efficiency of ENERGY STAR homes allows homebuilders to differentiate their homes by demonstrating the extra value in energy savings provided by ENERGY STAR to new homeowners," said Energy Inspectors CEO, Galo LeBron. "Homes certified for, and bearing the ENERGY STAR label are simply more comfortable and durable, plus they ensure immediate and long-term savings on energy bills while helping to protect the environment and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. The growth in ENERGY STAR qualified homes reflects the importance builders and buyers place on energy efficiency."
The 2009 Partner of the Year Awards are given to a variety of industry-leading organizations to recognize their contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by promoting energy efficiency. Award winners are selected from more than 12,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program. More than 940,000 families now live in ENERGY STAR qualified homes. Last year alone, Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved $19 billion on their energy bills and reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of 29 million vehicles.
"More homebuyers are choosing ENERGY STAR qualified homes across America thanks to the outstanding work of partners such as Energy Inspectors," said Kathleen Hogan, Director of the Climate Protection Partnerships Division at the U.S. EPA. "Due to the knowledge and expertise of Home Energy Raters such as Energy Inspectors, we are boosting the nation's energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions while offering families high-quality, comfortable homes."
