Utah Film Industry Moguls to be Honored

On Aug. 29 beginning at 7 p.m., the SLC Film Center, Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and Gary Neeleman, Utah's Honorary Consul of Brazil, invite you to honor some of the people who have been the most influential in the Utah Film Industry. They include:

Leigh von der Esch, of the Utah Office of Tourism and former head of the Utah Film Commission

Don Schain, producer of High School Musical 1,2,& 3

Utah filmmakers Jared and Jerusha Hess of Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre fame

Kris and Paul Liacopoulos, founders of the Salt Lake Film Society

This celebration is being generously hosted by Tocano's Brazilian Grill and the timing could not be better as the SLC Film Center commemorates it's 6th Anniversary, the closing night our inaugural Pioneer Park Picture Show Series, a pre-celebration for Saturday's Brazilian Cultural Festival at the Gateway, a new collaboration with the Salt Lake Film Society, and continued commitment to tie film to cultural exchange and economic development. {Read more}
