Bank of Utah has brought on 40-year mortgage industry veteran, David Bastian, to serve on its Redwood Road branch lending team.
Bastian has worked in various mortgage industry capacities throughout his long career including most recently as a residential mortgage originator for Liberty Bank of Utah. He specialized in Home Start down payment assistance grants and other options for first-time homebuyers. He also speaks Spanish.
“You might say that mortgages flow in my blood stream,” said Bastian. “I’m very passionate about teaching and helping first-time home buyers achieve a piece of the ‘American Dream,’ and helping these younger home buyers maneuver the obstacles along the road to home ownership.”
Bastian graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. He and his wife of 45 years, have five children and 14 grandchildren.
“I look forward to working at Bank of Utah because of their progressive spirit and devotion to the community they serve,” added Bastian.
