Bank of Utah has named two new branch managers. The locally-owned and operated bank appointed Melissa Bernson to lead operations in Brigham City and Rob Smith will manage the Roy, Utah branch.

Bernson has worked in the financial industry for the past eight years, including Key Bank, US Bank and Wells Fargo. Her experience includes training personnel, opening new accounts, overseeing customer service, processing customer requests, cash management and supervising daily branch operations.

“Being an effective branch manager is all about the clients we serve,” said Bernson. “Every client is valuable and deserving of excellent customer service. It’s extremely important that we make sure our clients are set up for financial success.”

Bernson has lived in Box Elder County for the past six years, where she and her husband, Chaz are raising two daughters.

Rob Smith will take the helm as manager of Bank of Utah’s Roy branch. Smith attended the University of Utah and Weber State University and completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management. He has served as a vice president and branch manager at both Chase Bank and U.S. Bank and as branch manager and district manager for CitiFinancial, where he served for 10 years.

Over Smith’s successful 18-year career in the banking industry, he has overseen daily bank operations and worked in branch sales, business development, cross-selling banking services and products, customer service and mentoring and training branch and district employees.
