This strategic move, which follows Method’s opening of a new office in San Francisco in February 2014, continues the PR agency’s aggressive expansion in California to better serve a rapidly growing West Coast client roster and meet the increasing demand for its results-based media relations, content creation and social media services.
As part of the acquisition, Carolyn Guss, founder of Kindling Communications, will join Method’s management team as general manager for the company’s Los Angeles office and will focus on continuing the agency’s rapid development in the region. Guss, who previously collaborated with Method on a number of PR efforts, has nearly 15 years of PR experience and previously served as head of corporate communications for European telecommunications firm Orange. She also served as an account director at Edelman, where she represented many leading-edge technology clients including Apple, Samsung, LG and Telstra.
“With a strong client base in LA, this acquisition and the addition of Carolyn to our executive team is the logical next step in our agency’s aggressive growth strategy,” said David Parkinson, CEO and co-founder of Method. “Our Bay Area business continues to skyrocket, and since opening an office there we have added even more dynamic clients to our portfolio and delivered tremendous results. Our different brand of PR has been a refreshing and welcome change for many innovative companies in California, and we are confident that under Carolyn’s leadership in Los Angeles, we will be able to replicate the remarkable successes we have seen in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.”
“Method’s ability to deliver consistently excellent client work makes this an exciting time to be joining the team,” said Guss. “I look forward to blending my skills with Method’s distinctive combination of creativity and flawless execution to serve more clients across Southern California.”
A selection of Method’s developing roster of clients in the greater LA area includes the following:
- Cylance, a global provider of cybersecurity products and services
- Fresh Nation, an online marketplace and delivery service for farmers’ markets
- Manatt Digital Media, a professional services division within Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, that engages with and invests in digital media and technology companies
- ZEFR, the leading SaaS platform for brands and content management on YouTube
- Zingle, a business-to-consumer text platform for hotels and restaurants
“Method is everything I could ever ask for in a PR firm, and I have worked with many PR firms throughout my career,” said Peter Csathy, CEO of Manatt Digital Media. “They are smart, passionate, interested, committed and connected. I don’t view them as being an outside team. I view them as being an integral part of my team, period. That’s why I have worked with them for more than five years.”
