Method Communications today announced that company co-founder and CEO David Parkinson has been named a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2015 Award in the Utah Region.

The awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Now in its 29th year, the program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries throughout the world.

Parkinson was selected as a finalist by a panel of independent judges based on the incredible leadership he has demonstrated in helping Method Communications become the largest PR agency in Utah and one of the fastest growing in the country.

Under Parkinson’s direction, Method has recruited an award-winning staff and has attracted a client portfolio that includes many of the hottest startups in the country. Headquartered in Salt Lake City – with offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles and an international partner in London – Parkinson and his staff of approximately 60 professionals provide a full array of integrated PR services ranging from media relations to content creation and social media expertise.

In 2014 alone, thanks to an aggressive expansion effort led by Parkinson, Method’s staff size increased by a third and the company added 30 new clients – brought to Method largely by referrals. Method was also able to deliver 82 percent year-over-year revenue growth from 2013 to 2014 and has remained profitable since its inception in 2010.

As a strategic PR partner, Method has played a key role in bringing attention to Utah’s tech scene, by garnering national and international attention for some of the state’s largest and most influential tech players, including “unicorns” Vivint and Pluralsight. Method’s clientele continues to also grow at a rapid pace with clients in Silicon Valley, Chicago, Amsterdam and beyond. Notable clients include the billon-dollar global payments technology company, Adyen, and the Crunchie award winner for Best New Startup of 2014, Product Hunt.

“When we started Method, we knew we wanted to build a different kind of agency, one that has a reputation for delivering meaningful results and building strong agency-client relationships,” said Parkinson. “This approach continues to bring us tremendous success, not only as it relates to financial growth, but also in being an organization that our clients can truly trust with their personal reputations and corporate brands. We are incredibly proud of the agency we have built over the past five years, thanks entirely to our principled and dedicated team.”

The recognition comes on the heels of Parkinson being recognized as Utah Business’ CEO of the Year, which was featured in the March 2015 issue of the magazine.

Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 6, 2015, at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 14, 2015. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
