Real Property Management was recently named a top franchise opportunity for veterans by Military Times and Entrepreneur magazine.

The Military Times Best for Vets list acknowledges the best franchise opportunities for veterans, based on an assessment of more than 100 questions about company culture, performance of the franchise units, costs associated with franchising, and financial and other support offered to veteran and active-duty service members and their families. The company was also recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as one of the top 100 franchises offering incentives for veterans.

“As a Real Property Management franchise owner, veterans can use their leadership skills, ambition and work ethic to build a stable business, provide for their family, and fill a need in their community,” said Lukas Krause, CEO of Property Management Business Solutions, LLC. “The property management industry has been experiencing steady growth in recent years, increasing demand for our services and ultimately creating more potential for our franchisees to build successful businesses.”

The brand is a member of the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) VetFran initiative, and offers military veterans a 10 percent discount off the franchise fee.

Several Real Property Management franchise offices are owned by military veterans who have found owning a property management business a good fit for their military experience, including Pedro Cedeño, who served in the U.S. Marines Corps before beginning his career in real estate. Cedeño is the owner of Real Property Management Dade, a franchise office in the Miami, FL area.

“Being a business owner demands many of the same skills I acquired during my time in the military, like adhering to processes, working as a unit, and understanding my customer and competition,” said Cedeño. “The support I received when I joined the Real Property Management franchise system made the transition seamless – even helping us grow our portfolio while I was deployed in Afghanistan.”

Managing combined assets worth more than $8 billion, the Real Property Management franchise was also named this year to Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500® as no. 1 in the property management category, and by Think Realty magazine as the 2016 Franchisor of the Year.

The company specializes in managing single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, multiplexes and small apartment buildings. Its services include finding and screening tenants, completing the lease agreements, collecting rent, arranging for any necessary repairs, and processing evictions when necessary. Real Property Management offices also manage the legal compliance for local, state and federal real estate law.
