Jeff Edwards01We recently had the opportunity to host a seminar at our office for Kinder Morgan, the largest energy infrastructure company in North America.

The Houston-based company operates more than 900 miles of natural gas pipelines in Utah and supplies many local refineries and utilities with Utah-sourced natural gas.

The company's Midstream Altamont System gathers casinghead gas from wells in the Altamont, Bluebell, Blacktail Ridge and Central Basin oil fields in Duchesne and Uintah Counties. The system consists of more than 500 miles of low-pressure gas-gathering pipelines, 23,000 horsepower of compression, a 60-million-cubic-feet-per-day natural gas liquids recovery plant and a 5,000-barrels-per-day fractionator that processes natural gas liquids recovered in the plant and trucked in.

Allen Fore, vice president of public affairs for Kinder Morgan, conducted the seminar and discussed his company's current and future role in Utah's energy industry and the broader economy. We were joined by about 37 EDCUtah investors and friends for the seminar, which was highly enlightening and a wonderful event. We appreciate Allen for taking the time to join us and talk about his company. Please follow us in this newsletter and on Facebook to learn about future seminars we may host.

On another note, our annual Golf for Grants Tournament is coming up quickly. We have some wonderful prizes to give away thanks to generous sponsors like Cuisine Unlimited, Grand America, Zermatt Utah, Station Park and Stein Eriksen Lodge. If you would like to be featured in the tournament and sponsor a prize, please contact Taylor Brightwell, 801-328-8842, or Sherrie Martell, 801-328-8839.
