Jeff Edwards01Congratulations to the Salt Lake Chamber, which recently received a five-star accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The purpose of the accreditation program is to facilitate continuing excellence in the chamber industry and to foster a pro-business environment across America. The Salt Lake Chamber is exemplary in its efforts to foster a pro-business environment across Utah and the accreditation recognizes its contributions toward positive change.

Also, we are excited to see Utah receive its fifth Gold Shovel award from Area Development for significant job creation, infrastructure improvement and for leading the nation in fostering a world-class business environment. Read the story in (Utah Pulse).

Previously we mentioned that EDCUtah and a number of investor cities had attended the ICSC RECon show and convention in Las Vegas in May. Reports released since then indicate the show had more than 37,000 attendees and approximately 1,200 exhibitors (including the Utah pavilion). If the energy we felt on the show floor is any indication, there is vibrancy within the retail real estate industry. We think that bodes well for our participating cities and their goals to increase retail developments. And of course, we are grateful for the opportunity to support those goals through the Utah pavilion and the Utah Property Book.
