We just released our annual report for the 2015-16 fiscal year, which has been one of the most successful years for EDCUtah in its 29-year history.

The report highlights the commitment of companies to create or retain nearly 15,000 jobs and invest close to $1 billion in capital investment, all stemming from 20 project wins.

Those successes came from numerous recruiting missions, tradeshows and events covering seven states and two European countries. Our Events team strengthened relationships with key site selectors and industry promoters, while our Global Strategy & Outreach team added 68 new companies to our project pipeline.

We also redesigned our company website, www.edcutah.org, to provide companies and site selectors with the information they have expressed is crucial for determining if Utah is the right place for expansion. Meanwhile, our research team redesigned and published six industry profiles, focusing on targeted industries in Utah.

As part of our annual report, I am thrilled to announce that Derek Miller, president & CEO of World Trade Center Utah, was selected to receive the Nick Rose Award for Leadership in Economic Development and John Curtis, mayor of Provo City, was this year's choice for the Thayne Robson Award for Leadership in Economic Development. Also, we created a new award this year called the Cornerstone in Economic Development Award, which has been given to City Creek Reserve.
