Holland & Hart announced the addition of four attorneys, Emily Tabak, Chris LeCates, Nils Lofgren, and Rob Hartshorn, to the firm’s Salt Lake City office.

Emily, Chris, and Nils join the firm’s Environmental, Energy and Natural Resources practice. Rob joins the firm’s Real Estate and Construction practice.

Emily Tabak advises clients on various environmental compliance, permitting, and litigation matters at state and federal levels. She has extensive experience helping clients navigate permitting and regulatory requirements involving air quality (CAA), water quality (CWA), and solid and hazardous waste (RCRA). She advises clients on environmental matters associated with Superfund sites, including internal and external information requests and investigations. Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Emily was an associate at K&L Gates LLP in Newark, New Jersey and she also practiced at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP in New York, New York. She earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.A. from Ohio State University.

Chris LeCates counsels natural resources clients on complex title and transactional matters. He assists clients with drilling, division order, financing, and acquisition title opinions and has experience with title examination of private, Federal, State, and Indian lands. Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Chris practiced in Bismarck, ND, focusing on oil and gas litigation, title opinions, foreclosures, commercial law, and general commercial litigation. He earned his J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law and his B.S. from Utah State University.

Nils Lofgren provides counsel to energy and resources clients on title examination, due diligence, and real estate matters. His has experience conducting complex title examination and drafted drilling, division order, acquisition, and financing title opinions. He advises oil and gas companies in exploration, development, and operation of projects on fee, State, Federal, and Indian lands. Nils earned his J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, his Masters of Real Estate Development from David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, and his B.A. from the University of Utah.

Rob Hartshorn represents institutional, commercial, and developer clients in real estate acquisitions and dispositions as well as leasing and development for various property types throughout the United States. His experience includes providing lenders and borrowers assistance in financial and legal transactions related to real estate matters, including single asset and multiple asset portfolio acquisitions. Additionally, Rob assists large commercial and retail landlords and tenants in lease preparation and lease negotiations. He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada.
