Method Communications and UP Communications today announced a strategic partnership to provide an integrated transatlantic suite of communications and content services.
The partnership pairs two leading PR agencies in their respective countries to benefit emerging and established companies on both sides of the Atlantic.
The partnership will provide significant value for Method and UP’s clients by enabling them to build their brands and bolster their media presence as they expand into the U.S. or U.K. markets. Method and UP will share their extensive network of media relationships to seamlessly run campaigns that drive awareness and thought leadership across both countries.
UP is led by CEO Stuart Jackson, who previously served as Director of the Chief Executive Office at EE, the U.K.’s largest and most advanced digital communications company. Prior to that he was Communications Director of the team that merged the Orange and T-Mobile businesses in the U.K. creating the new EE business, brand and culture.
In 2014, Jackson founded UP with Lynne Arrowsmith, also a former Orange and EE Communications lead, and a specialist in Brand Communications and Employee Engagement. In addition to larger companies such as Orange Innovation and blinkbox, UP represents some of the fastest-growing technology companies in London, including the Chelsea Apps Factory and Style-on-Screen.
“We are excited to partner with the best the U.K. has to offer in UP,” said David Parkinson, CEO and co-founder of Method. “Stuart is a vaunted PR pro in London’s booming tech scene, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to align with someone who shares our ability to blend creativity, strategy and flawless execution. UP will be an invaluable resource for our clients as they launch into the U.K. and need to make a big splash.”
Founded in 2010, Method has embarked on a rapid growth path, which has stemmed from its ability to build trusted relationships with some of the most influential venture capital groups in the U.S. and deliver tremendous results for their innovative portfolio companies. With offices in Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Los Angeles, Method represents industry leaders across a wide range of sectors, from enterprise technology and consumer electronics to mobile and life sciences. A selection of the agency’s marquee clients include cloud hosting provider DigitalOcean, online video technology company ZEFR, camera innovator Lytro, e-learning platform Pluralsight and smart home technology company Vivint.
Stuart Jackson, CEO and co-founder of UP, added: “While Silicon Valley is the spiritual home of the international tech startup scene, London’s tech community is fast-becoming the epicentre of innovation for some of the world’s most exciting companies. We are delighted to partner with Method to open up both locations, giving established and growing companies exposure to the right influencers, and ultimately helping them to grow their businesses.”
The partnership underscores the rise of London as an international technology hub. The city is home to more than 1,500 technology startups, up from 200 in 2010. Research supported by Bloomberg suggests that the growth of the technology and information sector in London and the east and southeast regions of England is outpacing California’s growth.
